Lifestyles Ideas Management - Ant, the Hepatitis Buster

At one time, our family used to patronize a restaurant named Imperial Herbal Restaurant which was located behind the famous Raffles Hotel. I came to know this Imperial Herbal Restaurant through a friend who threw a banquet of 10 tables for her guests during the wedding. Each course per table of ten persons cost at that time over S$1,000.00 and during that period $1,000.00 per table dinner course was expensive. Oil prices were about US20.00 per barrel and inflation was almost unheard of. She shared with us on the reaction of her invited guests particularly the groom’s relatives. They were very unhappy and upset with the food which was not to their taste. My goodness! As an invited guest, I will be more than happy to taste such wonderful glorious food. This restaurant is patronized by famous artists and and some V.I.P as well. How can it be that the food was not appetizing? My good friend told us that perhaps her husband’s relatives is too uncouth and cannot appreciate these dishes. The name of the restaurant is resounding with dishes from the Imperial palace and done in herbal style nourishing the body and organs. These dishes were cooked to perfection and I knew it every time we ordered the same dishes, there is one particular dish which is called Egg white bird nest. The egg white is cooked with chicken broth to a smooth consistency and display in a nest made of string potatoes. The taste is indescribable! Simply delicious!
My most memorable visit to this restaurant was when my friend (the same person who held her wedding dinner) invited ten of us to this banquet $1,000.00, $100.00 per person.
We had such wonderful time with each dishes explained by the chef how it was cooked and how should it be eaten with the sauces. Every dish was a surprise dinning experiences, and the cold dishes were filled with assorted meat and appetizers which cannot be found in other restaurant. The egg white bird nest came after the cold dish, and then it was a Yang Qui fei soup (herbal soup double-boiled chicken and meat) which nourishes the skin. Yang Qui fei was a classical Chinese maiden famous for her bathing scene. Not surprisingly, the beauty in her own way, she was plump and well-rounded and her skin complexion is porcelain white. Perhaps, this complexion was possible through the soup which is named after her. Dishes after dishes, surprise after surprise, we ended the dinner with a wonderful desserts where everyone has to play a part. We are told to quickly pick up the syrup sweet potato and yam and into the cold water to the serving plate. This is to prevent the sweet potato and yam from sticking together and such action is a good ice breaker. There was suddenly so much noises coming from our table and we were like children scrambling for our favorite candies. What a scene! All standing up picking up the sweet potatoes and yams and quickly dipped into the cold water. We did not realize that others from the table were watching from the distance, curiously.

One visit to the restaurant some times in July where there is a famous dish scorpion on toast and fried black ants. The scorpion on toast tasted bland but the scorpion was certainly very crunchy. The friend black ants was out of stock at that moment as it was monsoon season in the province which the restaurant imported million of ants. These black ants grew on dead tree stump and dry-freeze for export to Singapore, only this particular province, these black edible ants are found. Compounds found in a tiny Chinese ant with the biological monicker, polyhacis lamellidens could play a part in the treatment of arthritis and hepatitis, health website WebMD reported. The ant has painkilling and anti-inflammatory properties and is used in Chinese traditional medicine to treat rheumatoid arthritis and hepatitis. Chinese and Japanese researchers called polyrhacitides A and B that they think may be responsible for the insects’ effects.
Sometimes, never underestimate the small black thing moving under our feet, they can save our lives, too. All creatures, small and great contribute and exist for a purpose which only God knows.

Things always happened when business is good and The Management decided to expand their outlet to different location and to up their services to more fine dinning. There was no different of opinion; one preferred to stay as they are and the other group preferred to move into fine dinning. So there goes the division into two group and they operated in two different locations. Most regular dinners will stay with their own choice of familiar faces from chef to serving crew. I have yet to visit either one as they are located quite a distance from where I stay. Sad isn't it that when business is good there is always division when there is too many leaders and less followers and when money is concerned, there is always problem.
